Westfield Youth Football is a volunteer organization that exists solely for the benefit of the youth who
participate in the program. As with all volunteer organizations, there is always much work to be done. Each parent
is required to volunteer for two (2) hours during the course of the season. You may choose from the following activities.
If you do not sign up for an activity, the Parent Volunteer Coordinator will contact you with your assigned duty and the date and time
during which you will perform this duty.
- Field Preparation and Clean up: Each home game requires a small crew to set up the field prior to the Pee Wee game. Field set up includes
putting out yard markers, goal-post pads, end zone markers, walking the filed to check for debris, and setting up the announcers booth. After
the Seniors game all equipment must be picked up and stored, and trash must be removed from the field.
- Chain Gang: Each game requires three (3) volunteers to operate the chain gang. The chain gang works with the referees to keep the
down-marker and the ten-yard chains on the side line. This is the best seat in the house. If WYF has no volunteers for the chain gang, the game will
be forfeited.
- Concession Stand: Each game requires a set-up/break-down crew, and five (5) additional volunteers to staff the stand.
- Car Wash: WYF will hold at least one, and possibly two, car washes. Players are required to attend and help.
- Applebee's Fundraiser : WYF held a successful fundraiser at Applebee's last year. We plan to do this each year (date to be determined). Volunteers are needed to help organize the event, work the event and to sell tickets.
